The previous version of my web site used frames, that mysteriously stopped working properly (software updates?) on Dec. 26, 2007. Accordingly, I switched to a html/CSS-based menu system, within a single page (no frames!). However, to do this, I had to embed my 'shared' menu - that appears at the tops of the new pages - in an external *.htm file, that I call from the header of each page, in conjunction with a CSS script. I needed to figure out to do it this way, as my ISP (Roadrunner - Time Warner Cable) apparently does not support server-side cgi or php scripts on residential, non-commercial accounts!
For this to work, the modified pages need to be saved as *.shmtl pages, not *.htm or *.html pages.
Accordingly, my old Main Page (index.htm) no longer serves as the "front end" to my website.
