Ganymede Software - netIQ
Ganymede Software transplanted me and my family to RTP. I jointed up as their Sr. Architect and helped them bring Pegasus (which evolved into AppManager Performance Monitor) to market in '98. The company was acquired by netIQ in 2000 and now part of Attachmate. There's still a team of very talented folks dedicated to deliver the best in enterprise performance management.

Prior to the move. I was with Cisco in San Jose and was responsibility for CiscoWork and the NETSYS solution, later acquired by Cisco under the Service Mgmt BU. Other places in the Silicon Valley, where I had help lay-the-bricks so speak, include:

Cisco Systems   Apple Computers  Network General - Sniffer

I shared my humble beginning with my wife at SFSU. It is still believed to be a very good university. After I graduated, I went underground doing networking (the hard way, pulling wires into those Farallon hub, installing 3Com NICs, configuring NetWare servers ...) and mastered TCP/IP with the Sniffer at Network General. I did some AU/X and database programming at Apple. It was MPW and HyperCard back then comparing to JAVA/ActiveX and HTML/XML now.

Anyway, Mirador was like an expensive MBA school for me. I had a chance to broaden my skill set in the last 4 years with the startup, but my core interest remains with product & partnership mgmt. I enjoy working on strategy, design & marketing today, focusing on what customers really want. But I never wander too far from the technology. What does the future hold? ... My crystal ball says ... faster, smarter and more cost effective.
