Updated 1/15/2005</div> <div> <I><B><U>REPAIR OR OVERHAUL YOUR MARK V HEADSTOCK:</U></B></I></div> <div> Does your headstock need repair or an overhaul? We can do that for a fraction of the cost of a new headstock!  We disassemble the headstock clean and service all components, replacing worn or damaged parts as needed and make all adjustments according to factory specifications. We will also suggest any upgrades. Most repairs can be completed in 2 to 3 hours so if you live close enough to drive to our shop we will, within reason, do the repair while you wait subject to parts availability, so that you don't need to make two trips. This is an exclusive service of the Woodworking Academy. You must call first and make an appointment for this service. We are here to serve you! </div> <bR> <div> <B><U>Instructions on how to ship your headstock:</U></B></div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b7011800000000.png" HEIGHT="19" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Remove the headstock from the way tubes (Unscrew the headstock lock all the way. Then place board on bench tubes and use saw table to raise way tubes just high enough to remove end cap and slide headstock off the way tubes).  </div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b7011800000000.png" HEIGHT="19" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Remove the handle so it doesn't get bent in shipping. </div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b7011800000000.png" HEIGHT="19" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Package the unit in a sturdy cardboard box (double box if necessary).</div> <div> <IMG BORDER="0" SRC="Symb075c00b7011800000000.png" HEIGHT="19" WIDTH="24" ALIGN="bottom" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0">Use heavy packing material to protect the headstock from shipping damage. This can be done as long as the windings are not burned out (burned windings inside the motor will have a dark color and broken strings that wrap the windings) You can call for assistance in determining if your motor is repairable.  Contact us for rebuild pricing. This service covers removal and installation of sheaves and spring, clean out, inspection, and new bearings and other parts required for the motor to run smooth and quite. Worn parts associated with the sheaves and spring assembly carry an additional charge after your approval. Rebuild motors carry a limited 90 day warranty. Always package the motor well to prevent damage in shipment.</div> <bR> <div> <I><B>About our Shopsmith Authorized Service Center</B></I></div> <bR> <div> We have a full line of service parts for the Shopsmith MARK V.  We have in-depth knowledge, and over 11 years of experience in all types of repairs.  We also have the necessary special service tools to properly repair and maintain your headstock, and return it to an like new condition.  We can do this at a fraction of the cost of a new headstock. We don't swap headstock's, you get yours back after repairs are made.</div> <bR> <div> Please make an appointment before bringing your machine to our shop to be sure someone is here to meet you.
