Take Action for Trade Justice in June

On June 30 Fast Track, or Trade Promotional Authority, will expire. Take Action in June to stop Fast Track from being renewed! Fast Track is legislation that allows the President and the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) to side step the democratic process when negotiating free trade agreements. Under Fast Track the USTR and President negotiate an agreement then the President submits the full agreement, for approval in Congress. Congress does not have the ability to amend the agreement, and the normal committee process does not apply. THIS CUTS OUT ANY CHANCE OF THE PEOPLE HAVING A VOICE IN THE PROCESS.

We need YOU to take action in June to stop Fast Track!

What you can do:

1. Write or call your US Representative today and urge him or her to vote NO on Fast Track. US House of Representatives Wash. DC 20515 Phone: 202-224-3121. Call today!
2. Set up a meeting with your US Rep. and educate him/her about the impact of fast track.
3. Try to get 10-20 others to take action.
4. Go to the Witness for Peace website for an organizing packet on Fast Track. You can download a CD or power point presentation on Fast Track from the Witness for Peace web site.
5. 5. Write a Letter to the editor urging a no vote on Fast Track.
6. Call or email the CITCA office.
