Announcement

Location: Crafts Center at North Carolina State University
Dates: November 1, 2, & 3, 2002
Times:
6:30pm-9:30pm Friday, November 1st
9:00am-5:00pm Saturday, November 2nd
9:00am-5:00pm Sunday, November 3rd

Spend a whole weekend turning! End-grain turning is the standard approach used in creating this vase-like form characterized by a small mouth at the top in relation to a larger body diameter. The workshop provides an excellent hands-on opportunity to learn the basics of turning the hollow form in green wood while being introduced to a new realm of specialty tools. Discussion will include design and technique, sharpening, chucking, and finishing. This is an intermediate level woodturning class that assumes knowledge of the lathe and some faceplate turning technique.
