Myrmecodia tuberosa

The tuber of this cultivated specimen has been sectioned to reveal the interior chambers. In the upper picture, superficial honeycomb chambers are visible at the top of the tuber and smooth inner chambers at the center. In the lower picture, arrows indicate two warted chambers. See Huxley (1978) for a more detailed description of chamber morphology and development.
