David C. McLauchlin ( Clutch, Carmichael ) born, 1812 and his wife Jane (born in 1844).  According to 1870 census they lived in Cumberland county ( Fayetteville, NC ).  He was a farm hand and she was a housekeeper.


Jane remarried ( 1892 after the death of David) ,  Henry Brown and move to Moore County, NC.  Her youngest child ( Sarah Margaret ) moved with her.  Lee and Richard stayed in Cumberland County, Scott left home and was never heard from again.  The original spelling was McLauchlin , however Lee's name mistakenly misspelled McLaughlin , at the birth of one of his children, it was never changed....Hence the two spellings.
