About Erin

Erin enjoys being a stay-at-home mother for Caleb. They love having the time and freedom for activities like picking berries in the summer, learning and discovering at places like the nearby NC Museum of Life and Science, or just exploring the backyard and trying to coax the horses in the pasture behind us to stop by for a snack. Erin is excited about sharing their discoveries and making new ones with another son or daughter.

After graduate school, Erin wrote instructions for science education kits and then worked in a biology research lab. When Caleb was born, she cut back her hours in the lab so she only worked evenings when Paul was home with Caleb. When Caleb goes to school or spends Thursdays with his Oma, Erin works at a nearby photography studio. She is looking forward to cutting back her time at work to concentrate again on caring for a new baby.

Erin likes to spend quiet time reading. She and Caleb often visit the local library to stock up on new books. Erin also enjoys knitting or doing needlework while watching baseball on TV. After knitting an easy sweater to donate to Knit for Kids, Erin got ambitious. She is still working on the cable-knit sweater she “gave” her father last Christmas.

Last summer Erin and Caleb grew a giant cherry tomato plant from which Caleb enjoyed picking, eating and sharing with friends and family. This year they have numerous seedlings from that plant, and are not sure who will eat all the tomatoes!
