(Instructions on writing to your state officials to get changes to the law regarding ferrets from Tequita Williamson):
As concerned ferret lovers, we each need to write to our Senate, House, and Congressional District Representatives and ask for changes in our state laws. These changes are as follows:
Ferrets to be classified as domestic
Imrab-3 recognized as an effective and proven vaccine against rabies in ferrets
A mandatory quarantine period
To find out who your representatives are:
Look on your voter registration card and find your district number. Call your local library and tell them your number or visit this web site:
If you are not a registered voter, give the librarian your street address or visit the same site above for a zip code search.
All letters need to be an original - not photocopier generated. Make the letters brief and to the point. They should be no more than 1 page of 3-4 paragraphs. Your rep. is very busy and does not have time to read a lot of pages.
Explain what you want in the first paragraph, and why you want this in the second. Re-state what you want in the third.
Include your mailing address, area code and phone number with your closing signature.
Please be polite!
We need lots of letters, therefore, ask your families, neighbors, and friends to write too. A few letters will not get results, but hundreds will.
