KEVIN’S TESTIMONY

I was born into a home to parents who knew Jesus Christ as their Savior.   I learned from the Word of God as a child and attended church regularly.  We had children’s church, and during the lesson one week I realized very clearly that I was not saved and that if I died I would not go to heaven to be with God.  I was afraid to go forward and make a profession, and went home with a heavy burden.  The following week when we went to church I went forward early in the service and prayed and asked the Lord to save me.

During my teen years I wanted to see what was in the world.  I wanted to experience some of the things that I thought I would be missing if I lived for God.  This was my life for several years.  A very good friend invited me to a campus Bible study during my freshman year in college.  I was curious to see if the Bible could be relevant for me, so I went.  During these studies, God began working in my life again.  I found a local fundamental church, and there began to grow.

During my junior year, God made it clear to me that he wanted me to go into the ministry.  This was more than I was willing to surrender to Him, so I struggled for a while.  When I surrendered, God then directed me to Bob Jones University.  It was during my studies there that I also learned of His desire for me to serve in missions.  I resisted again, but knew that God’s ways were best.

God directed me to the city of Krasnoyarsk in Siberia, Russia.  It is my greatest joy to serve Him there. After three years in Krasnoyarsk I met Jessica in July 1999 and we were married in November.

My testimony is one of God’s grace and faithfulness.  I did not deserve God’s patience with me, but He did not leave me.  Jesus Christ has been the truest and most faithful Savior, friend, and Lord.  There is no one that is more magnificent than Jesus Christ.  I will never be able to speak of all His goodness to me.

JESSICA’S TESTIMONY

The Lord has graciously allowed me to be reared in a Christian home.  I was born in France where I spent half of my life as a missionary kid.  I heard and knew of Jesus Christ from my birth, and accepted Him as Savior when I was five.  I was eating a piece of hard candy and I choked on it.  My dad was holding me upside down trying to get the candy out, and I thought about dying.  I realized that I was not ready because I had never been saved.  After the candy was freed, I told my dad I knew that if I had died I would have gone to hell.  I was saved at that time and baptized when I was six.

The Lord had been directing me towards missions since the age of four when I saw an accident on the road.  I thought of how I could help people, and thought of becoming a nurse.  The Lord shaped this desire toward missions and led me to Ambassador Baptist College.

When I graduated from Ambassador in 1997 with a degree in music, I moved to South Bend, Indiana where I taught piano, Music, French and Bible for two years at Community Baptist Christian School.  God, through His providence, then moved me back to Greenville in June 1999.   I met Kevin two weeks later.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Ps. 32: 8, which certainly has been proven true.  God DOES guide us with His eye.
