Pvt. Paul Sechrest
- Ambulance Corps
Paul Sechrest is 17 years
old. He was born at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC. He is
a senior at Massey HillClassical High School. His interests include
martial arts, forensics, rock music guitar, and handgun target
shooting. He hopes to join the military as a light arms instructor.
He has a Siberian Husky named "Bear" and hunts squirrels.
The red badge on his hat signifies
that he is in the ambulance corps. As such, he is authorized to
remove wounded men from the field of battle. Infantry soldiers
were considered "shirkers" if they stopped to help a
wounded man during a battle. The red badge informed the officers
that the stretcher bearer was not shirking., and hopefully discouraged
the enemy from shooting at him.
