Welcome to the site of Donald N. Wood  and the theory of Post-Intellectualism.   This is a brief exploration of where Western Civilization wanted to go
.  .  .  and where we went wrong.

The ongoing curse of mankind is this: we can envision what we should be, we know what we should do, and yet we constantly fail to achieve those ideals.  We repeatedly fall short in our attempts to better ourselves.  We know how to live in peace, but we continue to do battle with our neighbors.  We aspire to be selfless and altruistic, but we act out of materialism and self-centeredness.  We say we love our brothers and sisters of all races and creeds, but again and again we act with prejudice and bigotry.  We say we believe in a God of love and tolerance, and then we kill those who believe differently than we do.  We know we must preserve the biosphere, yet we continue to drain the wetlands and bulldoze the forests.  We know we must conduct our affairs with reason and responsibility, but we are guided by our animal lusts and greeds.   We are philosophers and theorists, thinkers and problem-solvers, moralists and preachers.  And yet we constantly sabotage our intellectual efforts to improve ourselves and better our world.  This is our tragedy, our unending frustration: that we aspire to elevated heights—but we continually pull ourselves down to the lower depths.  This is post-intellectualism.
