Selecting Text and Files

I was browsing thru a huge console file using word pad and I wanted to highlight the text from a certain point until the end of the file. I just found the control character combination that will do that for me instead of having to manually highlight the text which takes a while. Enter Shift Control End. The reverse is Shift Control Home which highlights from the cursor to the beginning of the file.

Here is another trick I was just made aware of. Lets say you are trying to select files within windows (to say delete). For example, I want to delete the second through the fifth file in a windows directory (details view). You place your mouse over the second file and select it, then hit the shift key, move the mouse over the fifth file, and select it. You should now have the second to the fifth file highlighted and from there you can delete them.

Using RSS Feeds in the workplace

Triple Point Relies on Rss: "an increasing number of corporations are using RSS feeds as a way to distribute information internally and externally. RSS' stability and wide acceptance has made it an economical way to disseminate content. Both Microsoft and Cisco Systems Inc., for example, release security and update bulletins as RSS feeds."

MoBlogs

Forbes.com: Camera Phone Blogs Ignite Interest: "We're looking at a future of corporate multimedia publishing,' he says. 'It's not just text or even just photos. It's video and audio. It's putting your comments in an audio file and using a camera phone to transmit a 30-second video to a Web site for multimedia information.' A growing number of Web sites are devoted to moblogging. Many offer a base service for free. Some are operated by enthusiasts who just want to enable others. Some apparently hope to become profitable by charging for premium services. "
