Khalid's Decal Plugins

Khalid's Decal Plugins

Hello fellow Shadow Slayers and visitors as well. This page is the home of all Decal plugins created by Khalid II and those yet to be. If you have any questions, comments, or criticism about any of these plugins, please email me. All of these plugins are useful to me and I use them regularly. No guarantee is made as to their usefulness to you or their ability to increase your "uberness".

Also, some of these plugins require XML support. To ensure that you have XML support on your computer, all you need to do is upgrade your Microsoft Internet Explorer to the latest version (currently 6.0). Internet Explorer 6.0 and later has built-in support for XML. So clicking on the following link will bring you to a page where you can update many different things on your system. Find the Internet Explorer update and then download and install it. Please make sure you do this before trying to install any of my plugins.

Upgrade Internet Explorer to latest version

The following plugins are currently in development:

Monster Monitor
WatchDog

Monster Monitor

New in version 2.0:
  • Monster Monitor is now PK friendly! It should no longer track PKs or traps or anything else that shouldn't have been added in the past.
  • Fixed mix up of slash/pierce damage on war magic tracking
  • Added ability to track monster xp
  • Added ability to track monster kills
  • Added ability to reset damage/xp/kill data
  • Added Auto-switch to nearby option
  • Added Only list nearby monsters option
  • Added option to enable/disable various types of tracking
  • Added /mmfind chat command to go directly to a particular monster's data
  • Damage data is now shown as percentages rather than raw numbers
  • Now shows number of "data points" so you know how accurate the percentages are
  • Now stops tracking damage after 1000 data points are recorded

Description:

Monster Monitor is a monster damage tracking plugin. It will automatically keep track of the melee damage type, melee damage location, and magic damage type done to you by any monster in the game.

I created this plugin because I got tired of remembering which monsters did which types of damage. Along the same lines I thought it would be neat to remember specifically where a particular monster is more likely to hit you at and what war spells it is more likely to throw at you, but I knew I would never be able to keep track of that on my own. So Monster Monitor was born...

With Monster Monitor you will be able to better prepare when you know you are fighting a certain monster or group of monsters. This way you can avoid excessive buffing and casting unnecessary banes or protects.

For example, most people know that Tuskers do bludgeoning damage, but not everyone realizes that Tuskers almost never hit you in the head or feet. So with Monster Monitor you can know that you don't need to waste mana on baning your shoes and helmet. With the magic damage type tracking you can stop casting all 7 life protects everytime you know you're fighting a monster that uses war. Just protect against what they use!

Features:

  • Track melee damage type (fire, slash, pierce, etc) done by each monster
  • Track melee damage location (head, chest, foot) hit by each monster
  • Track war magic damage type (fire, slash, pierce, etc) cast by each monster
  • Track XP earned for killing monsters
  • Track number of kills for each monster
  • Options to enable/disable various types of tracking
  • Option to automatically switch displayed data to that of the most recently spawned nearby monster
  • Option to only list monsters that are nearby in the dropdown list
  • /mmfind chat command to go directly to a particular monster's data

Known Bugs or other things you should know:

  • XP tracking will currently crash the plugin if you are a very high level player with over 2 billion total xp.  Any programmers out there that know how to get around this problem in VB (like how to make an unsigned long integer) please let me know!
  • Kill tracking is not very reliable when hunting with others because it is triggered by whoever gets the last hit.
  • New monsters are always added to the end of the monster list. However, they will be in alphabetical order the next time you start Monster Monitor
  • Monster Monitor will not be able to track war spells that you resist. But on the plus side, if you can resist the spells, you don't need to know what they are!
  • Monster Monitor currently comes with a blank monster database.

Future Enhancements:

  • Ability to maintain multiple monster databases and select which one to use
  • Track non-war debuff spells that monsters cast on you
  • Ability to merge data from two different databases
  • Ability to download the latest monster database through the internet

Please note that Monster Monitor is no longer supported and very likely no longer works with recent patches. However, I am continuing to make the install file available on the off chance of it working. Also, since I have no further intentions of working on Monster Monitor, I am releasing the source code to my work to the public.

WatchDog

WatchDog is not currently in a format that is ready for release yet.

WatchDog is a plugin that will hopefully be able to manage things for you while you are AFK (Away From Keyboard). The main reason I created WatchDog is because I tend to trade a lot in Hub. And I got tired of sitting in Hub and redisplaying the same message over and over again until someone who was interested would respond. So I thought, why not have a plugin do that for you?

And so, WatchDog is able to display adverts (advertisements) out loud and alert you when anyone responds to your advert. It can also listen to other people's adverts for some keyword that you are looking for. In addition it can log who sent you tells and what the tell was.

Features:

  • Maintain a list of keywords to look out for in other people's chat. If the keyword is found, the word will be highlighted and a sound will be played.
  • Maintain a list of adverts that will be cycled through while you are AFK. Adverts will be said out loud after a user specified number of seconds
  • Alert by playing a sound when your character receives a message while AFK.
  • Alert by playing a sound if your character is attacked or a monster spawns nearby while you are AFK.

Known Bugs or other things you should know:

  • WatchDog isn't finished :P

Future Enhancements:

  • Set an automatic AFK response for when you receive a message while AFK.
  • Ability to select a character by name (I've wanted to be able to do this forever!)
  • Log all direct tells while AFK.
  • Log all chat messages containing a specified keyword.
  • Log all direct tells while in combat mode.
