About the Club
Cardiac Kids is the premier freestyle wrestling club in the Triangle. The club
was founded by Mike Kendall, who carries the distinction of being the first
high school wrestler in NC history to go undefeated for four years. The Club
membership includes All Americans, State Champions, State Placers, State Qualifiers,
and many up and coming wrestlers.
The Cardiac Kids meet in the UNC mat room on Sundays from 4-6PM during the High School wrestling season. From March through May, the team adds practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8PM. After the Freestyle / Greco State Championships in May, the Cardiac Kids practice six days per week to prepare for the National Championships that are held in Fargo, North Dakota in July. We hold practice at the UNC Chapel Hill matroom in Fetzer Gym.
Directions to Fetzer Gym from I-40. Take I-40 to Chapel Hill . Exit at NC-54 West (exit #273 A) and follow for approximately 4 miles. After the US-15/501 overpass, continue straight on NC-54 into campus. Carmichael is 1/3 mile on left before 3-way stoplight and Fetzer Gym is on the left next to Carmichael . Stay straight through the 3-way light and turn left into a parking lot on Stadium Drive .

Membership fees have been restructured this year. Each wrestler simply pays
$5 per session, capped at $50 per calendar month. All-Americans are free. There
are discounts for multiple wrestlers in a family - see Coach Stu for details.
