The extract program is still under development.The program features of EXTRACT are:
Michael Ehinger, an OS/2 enthusiast and Movemap user, has contributed a REXX script that almost completely
- Unzips and untars 100K USGS files as downloaded from the USGS web site.
- Extracts data from all 100K USGS untar'd and ungzip'd files.
- Builds the proprietary files required by MOVEMAP to display DLG files at the 4, 5 and 6 resolution levels.
- Extracts data from comma delimited files produced by the USGS GNIS places program
- Builds the proprietary files required by MOVEMAP to display places information on 4, 5, and 6 resolution maps.
automates the downloading and extracting of USGS data. Michael (mepe@sbcglobal.net) has agreed to let me
include his script in the Extract bundle. Mike has contributed many suggested improvements and bug reports to the
suite of Movemap programs. Thanks Mike.
