We played at the Firebelly Lounge in Wilmington with the Rosebuds and it was damn
fun. The Rosebuds were great and they had the hometown crowd dancing and rocking
out. We are happy that they are moving to Raleigh. (Ivan, I hope you can find some
wings in Raleigh. If anyone knows where you can get some good cheap wings in
Raleigh Ivan wants to know so email me). Best of all, we stayed at the beach before
and after we played and had some cold beers and some fun playing on the beach and
whatnot. We were glad our friends Luc and Laura came to the show and hung out with
us.
Our show with our friends the BQs and our new friends the Rosebuds (July 28 at
Kings) was fun, but we had mad technical problems. If you were there you probably
noticed that Ben's guitar was only working about 45% of the time. Thanks to Brian
for loaning us the Marauder so we could keep going. Our show this weekend in
Wilmington (August 18 at the Firebelly Lounge) will make up lost time. Can't wait
to see the Rosebuds again. They are some good time party rock!
Just got back from State College, PA where we played a show at Zeno's last night.
Zeno's is great...they put the bands up in the hotel upstairs from the bar...and fed
us nice food and gave us plenty of Ying-Ling. Thanks Zeno's! The people danced and
rocked out and we hade a fine time. Email us if you need directions to State
College'cause we got the secret way to get there from Jim and Jen's friend from
work.
A couple of new reviews in Magnet and Alternative Press have made our email a little
more interesting. There are a few new interviews and reviews being posted around
the world-wide-web. The best questions came from
Naughty Secretary Club
so check that out if you want to know "what's it like being married to someone in
your band?" and other trivia.
The summer heat is bearing down and it's time for beach action! There is talk of a
Wilmington show sometime soon but so far we haven't lined anything up. Jim and Ben
played a short acoustic set at Kings on June 9 (including a cover of Glen Campbell's
"Galveston"), which was fun. Look for some new AS songs at the July 28 show at
Kings. We are excited to work on some new material!
Whilst we had a blast on our tour, nothing beats coming home! NC, you rock! We had
a great time on the West Coast, however. We would like to come back, so buy our
record so we can afford to make another one!
We leave for our first West coast tour. Check the schedule below
and see if we'll be in your town. Come see us! Also, Spott at Merge
will be posting a tour diary to the Merge website
Merge Records.
It will be updated daily and it will have plenty of insider stuff
(probably more than you want to know about), so check that out.
