I believe
that education is the key to success in an ever-growing,
ever-changing, technological world. I know I will benefit
greatly from my education at North Carolina State University as
well as my student teaching at Carroll Middle School. Through
these experiences, I know I will be able to create a classroom
that fosters collaboration and helps students to achieve the
highest expectations of themselves. I aim to create a classroom
in which students feel comfortable to be themselves and to reach
for seemingly impossible dreams.
Through my student teaching this semester, I have discovered
that I truly enjoy the teacher role as a facilitator rather than
a lector. I strongly believe students learn better through
collaborative group work. When students construct their own
learning experiences, they will not only be able to better
retain information, but they will also become more confident in
themselves as both a learner and a teacher.
My goal as a professional educator is to set every child up
to be successful by first helping the child see what he or she
is capable of achieving. I believe every child, no matter the
walk of life, can learn.
