The Raleigh Amateur Radio Society Education Department is delighted to be conducting a licensing class for visually impaired students under the direction of AC4ZO.
This is a very exciting undertaking which has presented many challenges. Some of the unique challenges presented are being met by using a classroom technique called "breakout groups". Each two or three students is assigned an "Elmer" at the beginning of the class session.
The instructor then begins his class, and periodically asks the Elmers to explain or demonstrate a point on an individual basis.  It sure has been wonderful to see old-fashioned "Elmering" going on.
