Here's a look at some of the people who have operated from here, and some of what goes on.
A typical scene during the North American QSO Party, sponsored
by the NCJ. If this looks like fun, leave email and get on the
list of operators. All are welcome but RARS members get preference
if we have too many operators.
On the right is Wilbur, WD4RDT. Wilbur is a regular whenever training
of any sort is going on. He is one of three primary control ops
when Technicians operate in the various contests. Here, Joey
operates "run" in the afternoon hours of the November Sweepstakes
under the watchful eye of Wilbur.
And Tim, KF4RTX operates under the watchful eye of Joey.
Cyndi, KD4ACW works the 9:00p to midnight shift. Have you ever seen
such concentration?
And Dick, KD4ISC is quite capable of handling the graveyard shift
unassisted. He's really quite good... the only operator here to
never bust a call.
Sometimes things give out in the middle of the fun. This situation
calls for quick troubleshooting and repair.
Warren, AD4ZE is another of the primary control operators. Sometimes,
he even gets to operate a little himself. Notice Warren is not
distracted by the KN4AQ two meter operation going on right next
to him.
Thomas, KF4JKQ is the Skywarn EC. Here, he calls a Skywarn net
during a batchlor party. There were about 20 hams in the house
at this time, but notice that Thomas is the only one in the shack.
Hmm... where is everybody else?
It's not all about contesting. Here, a scout troop visits before
the annual Field Day event. This was in preparation for assisting
the W4DW operation.
