Ham Radio Goes To School

Occasionally, hams get called upon to demonstrate ham radio in the local schools. There is no better duty in the hobby, than this. Here are some pictures from Apex Elementary, and Davis Drive Elementary Schools, where AC4ZO and KE4OQO presented to 9 classes in two days.

Teacher

This was the teacher who's room we turned into a hamshack for a day. By the end of the day, the room was known as "Mission Control".

Antenna Work

AC4ZO checks the feed point on the Mosley TA-33 Senior before the demonstrations begin. In 9 classes, Mike and Jeff scored 9 DX contacts with Europeans... Some, very interesting.

Trying CW

Mary Grace tries her hand at CW.
