The premier event of the ham radio year: Field Day. At RARS, we do it BIG!
If you wanna operate here, you'd better pull your sox up... and
put on a tie.
Although ties are only required when operating, this photo was taken moments after the event was over, and the operators are still looking dapper.
This was the 20 CW team for 1994, 95, 96, and 97.
And in 1998, we welcomed the addition of Wilbur, WD4RDT. Wilbur
has been a telegrapher since Marconi was a Novice.
This is the heavy metal that helped take us to FIRST PLACE! It's a
Mosley TA-33 Senior, and is mounted on a 24 foot ladder. Operated
with the "Armstrong Rotator," Worked All States is a piece of cake
on Field Day weekend.
Hey! What's going on here? This is Field Day, not a vacation
in Vegas for Pete's sake. How can you play games at a time like
this?
Well never mind you guys... I'm operating!
David, N4YTO handles the stuff above 30 for W4DW.
This is Mike, KE4OQO. He's the Captain of the Novice station. I'm
afraid that pretty soon, we're going to lose him to upgrades. Any
Novice, Tech, or Tech Plus can apply for the job. Of course if a
Tech takes it, an additional control operator would be required.
Here's some other folks who help take us to victory.
