Come and take a ride with us…along the route through the North Carolina countryside… past farms, houses, and the various industries along the way. You’ll find lazy towns with the local cop parked at the drive-in.  You’ll see mountains reaching up to the clouds, and rail yards full of boxcars and grumbling locomotives.  There are modern diesel locomotives, as well as fire-breathing steam locomotives of days gone by.  The rickety old freight train moves onto a siding as the shiny Amtrak streaks by.
